Give Thanks
Don't have enough money in your budget for the things you need? Give thanks that you live in the greatest country in the world?
Don't have the the best of students this year? Give thanks that we're in a country that educates every child.
District rules getting you down? Give thanks that we enjoy more freedom than in any other country---freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom to travel, freedom to live where we wish, freedom to become whatever we want to be.
It is no mystery to me that people are willing to risk almost any danger to come to and live in the United States.
We enjoy so many liberties, so many material benefits.
During this Thanksgiving season, put all thoughts of the small problems we have aside and just be thankful for everything we enjoy here in the United States.
So many sacrifices have been made by our ancestors to give us the quality of life that we now have. Be thankful and share those blessings with those around you.

Ever Considered Foundation Grants?
This is a very good time of year to apply for many foundation
grants. Unlike most state and federal grants which have a single deadline date, many foundations review grant applications two, three, and even four times per year.
If the foundation is using a typical calender year, the board will review applications in December. That may seem like a short time to get an application in, but if you look at most
foundation applications, they are not nearly as difficult or as extensive as most state and federal applications.
Also, many schools will not apply now because of the holidays.
Schools have so many activities going on, they won't invest their time writing grants. That means the competition will be less for those of you that do apply.
If you apply for the money now, you will receive it and be able to put it to good use during the spring semester instead of having to wait until summer school or next fall.
Here are just a few of the foundations that award money to
schools:
Ford Foundation
W.K. Kellogg Foundation
Wal-Mart Foundation
Citigroup Foundation
AT&T Foundation
MetLife Foundation
Prudential Foundation
Alcoa Foundation
Hewlett-Packard Company Foundation
Sprint Foundation
Toyota USA Foundation
Bank of America Foundation
Coca-Cola Foundation
IBM International Foundation
These are just a few of the thousands of foundations that give grant money to schools.
Why not apply for a few of these grants before your long winter break?
The School Funding Center will help you. We list thousands of foundation grants in our huge database.
The School Funding Center Grant Database is the premier school grant database. It is more comprehensive and up-to-date than any other grant database that you will find.
