Retainer Agreements

For schools who need a grant writer, but cannot afford one, or for larger districts who have a grant writer but need even more help, The School Funding Center will enter into a retainer arrangement. Typical retainer agreements call for fees of $1,500 to $2,500 per month. A senior grant writer is assigned to your school to alert you of all grant opportunities available to you, to prepare grant proposals for any grants you agree are worthwhile, and to consult with your school whenever necessary. Hours are billed at a discount from our regular rates with a 3-month minimum. Hours not used in one month can be carried forward. Retainer fees are due quarterly.

Under this arrangement a school can virtually have an experienced, full-time grant writer for $10,000 to $25,000 per year and have no additional benefits to pay. This is less than the cost of a first-year teacher, but may result in hundreds of thousands of additional dollars coming into the district.
