The aim of education should be to teach us rather how to think, than what to think - rather to improve our minds, so as to enable us to think for ourselves, than to load the memory with thoughts of other men.

If you're going to take a free newsletter, read it.  It's amazing how much free information is given away on the Internet today.  Sometimes we use that information, and sometimes we don't.  A lot of us are guilty of subscribing to more free newsletters than we can really use, but often these free newsletters do contain valuable information.

Take this editorial.  This month it is my way of letting you know you can use our entire grant database for two days only, absolutely free.  It's my way of saying, "The School Funding Center Grant Database is worth every penny we charge for a subscription, and I'll prove it by letting you see it for free."

Here's what you do, on June 26 & 27 only, go to:

www.schoolfundingcenter.info

Click on LOGIN at the left of the navigation bar.

Type in the following in the 3 blanks:

free@schoolfundingcenter.info
SFC
grants         (These are case-sensitive.)

Click on SIGN IN.

Select your state, type of school, subject of grant.
You can use a word search if you prefer.

Once you see all we have to offer, especially the comprehensiveness and how current we keep our database,
you will want to subscribe for the year.

Happy hunting.

Consistency Is the Key

I talk to lots of people who want and need grant money for their schools.  Usually, they don't have money to hire a grant writer.  Often they're not even sure whether to subscribe to our grant database because they're afraid they won't be able to find the grant money they need.

Here's my advice to them and to you.  If your school really needs money, you can get the grant money you need.
Approximately $6.5 billion is given to schools every year.
That's about $60,000 for every campus in the United States (not every district, every campus).

The key is matching your needs to the grant money that is available and consistently applying for grants over the long haul.  You should be applying for multiple grants to address each problem area you have, and there's no reason you shouldn't address more than one problem at a time.

That's why you need a grant database to start with.  You need to know all the grants that are available to your school throughout the year.  We post new grants each day.
We remove grants when their deadlines pass. You should be searching for grants every week.

If you really want grant money for your school, you can get it.  But you must be consistent.  You must consistently search for grants that match your needs, and you must consistently apply for those grants.

When you do those two things, the money will come.  You won't get every grant---no one does.  But you will get the money you need eventually, because in grant writing, consistency pays off.
