1. Educational Grants from the Benedict Foundation for Independent Schools- giving on a national basis for independent secondary schools that have been members of the National Association of Independent Schools for ten consecutive years. Challenge grants are preferred for purposes of improving academic programs, scholarship aid, building programs, faculty salaries, faculty summer workshops, or other programs to improve the quality of the school’s educational activities.

3. High School Physics Teacher Grant from the American Association of Physics Teachers- the AAPT awards this grant annually to a high school teacher who is looking to experiment and improve on their teaching practices. The proposal should contain some innovative ideas. For example, the proposal may use a new teaching method or an adaptation of an existing idea. The result should be better teaching practices, student understanding and interest, and/or increased enrollment.

Reflex Educator Grant Program from ExploreLearning- the Reflex Educator Grant Program gives exceptional elementary and middle school educators a unique opportunity to use ExploreLearning Reflex, a revolutionary math fact fluency program, free for one year. The program provides full use of Reflex for one classroom of students, initial training, and ongoing support for participating teachers. The program is open to U.S. and Canadian elementary and middle school classroom educators (grades 2-8) who teach mathematics.

6. Grammy Signature School Grant from the Grammy Foundation- Does your school deserve a GRAMMY? And a little bit of cash for your music programs to go along with it? If your school has a totally great music program with a fantastic music teacher or two thrown in — it does. Or if you are keeping music classes in your school despite that fact that you barely have a budget for sheet music much less instruments – it does. GRAMMY Signature School awards are given to high school music programs that are keeping music programs alive and well despite budgets and school politics.

8. N-Vision a Brighter Future Grant from the Westinghouse Electric Company – Schools and teachers who want their students to learn more about STEM through a hands-on project should apply for this grant. The kinds of projects that will be considered are any creative hands-on project dealing with STEM. Grants may be used to compensate experts who come to work with students, but not to pay teachers or staff. Funds may also be used to purchase equipment or to provide field trip transportation, but not when these are ends alone. Equipment and trips should be just one component of a well-planned project, integrated with other curriculum materials and activities.
